We utilise modern techniques wherever possible to maximise efficiency and minimise risk. When planning a job, the level of risk involved is always carefully considered. Generally speaking, carrying out tree work at height poses the highest risk to an arborist. This is why we look at a variety of options and consider techniques such as using a MEWP or carrying out work from the ground using specialised machinery where possible.
With this in mind, we have been officially recognised as being qualified to perform tree cutting, tree trimming and all other tree work by multiple health and safety bodies. This recognises that we work safely and efficiently.

When carried out correctly by knowledgeable and well-trained professionals, tree trimming and pruning can:
This is a common pruning technique that we use. It involves reducing the height and/or spread of the tree. Crown reductions can be useful in managing the stress and weight on a tree’s branches and encourage more light through the canopy and into the area below.
What is crown lifting? This involves removing the tree’s lower branches and therefore increasing the height of the lower canopy. Often carried out in urban areas, the aim is to achieve more space and open access for vehicles, pedestrians, buildings or street furniture. It is also used in domestic gardens to allow more space and access underneath a tree, for example, next to a driveway to allow access/ parking for vehicles or by opening up space on a lawn to enable access for mowing beneath a tree.
Deadwood refers to any branch or stem that no longer contains live tissue. These may appear cracked, brittle and break easily. A branch no longer growing leaves or needles, or any areas that are missing bark are also a warning sign that an area of dead or dying. These limbs are of no further use to the tree and can pose a risk as they are more likely to snap and fall.
Whilst trees are a fantastic asset and essential to the health of our environment, sometimes they do require removal. This could be due to disease or decay. It could also be due to the tree posing a danger to people, and property or causing subsidence or other problems.
Our experienced arborists can provide a timely and straightforward service for removing any fallen tree. Depending on the size of the tree and considerations such as access and location, this can be done using chainsaws to dismantle the tree on the ground. The waste wood can then be cut to a manageable size or alternatively can be chipped using a woodchipper.
