Biomass Chipping
Simpson Arboriculture offer on-site wood-chipping of cord wood for businesses and estates with their own biomass system.
Woodchip biomass can be a sustainable source of energy, a valuable renewable alternative to finite fossil fuels. The focus of bioenergy initiatives is to ensure the use of land for bioenergy is economically, environmentally and socially sustainable.
Our specialised machinery, Fendt and Jenz, means the process is both time-efficient and cost-effective, keeping a low cost per tonnage. We work at production speeds of around 15-20 tonnes per hour dependent on site. Our chipper can produce biomass grade woodchip (in G30 or G50 sizes) that’s an average chip size of 30-50mm.
Oversized wood can be split prior to chipping using our cone splitter.
We are on the government’s Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) which means that we have proven that we meet the eligibility requirements for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.
