What are Ready to burn kiln-dried firewood logs?

Ready to Burn kiln-dried logs are those certified by the Ready to Burn scheme run by Woodsure which regulates the production of firewood across the UK.

The Ready to Burn certification scheme is run by Woodsure with the aim of regulating the production of firewood across the UK. Wood sold in volumes of less than 2m³ must now legally be certified as Ready to Burn.

Simpson Arboriculture Ltd are proud to have recently been awarded Ready to Burn certification for processing and selling our mixed hardwood logs. This means our customers can rest assured that they are buying high-quality and low-moisture firewood logs. The processing of our firewood is thoroughly checked and monitored and our logs are tested regularly to ensure that they meet all of the requirements for this certification.

Ready to Burn firewood has a moisture content of 20% or less. These logs burn much more effectively than wet wood and help to reduce environmental impact. This is due to wet wood creating smoke which is harmful to both you and the environment. Ensuring you are burning dry, clean wood is also a great way to reduce your fuel costs. Our kiln-dried logs are carefully checked, so our customers achieve the perfect burn every time. Furthermore, this has been shown to be much better for your stove or chimney, thus increasing their efficiency and extending their lifespan.

You can help to reduce emissions by only purchasing firewood logs that are certified as Ready to Burn.
