How are the kiln-dried logs processed?
The lengths of cordwood are processed using our Balfor log-splitting machine. The built-in chainsaw cuts the wood to length (8 – 10”)**, a hydraulic ram pushes the wood against a steel splitter head and up onto a conveyor belt.
Once the log is split, it is fed through a rotating grader to filter out any dust and small offcuts of wood, finally dropped into large ventilated wooden potato boxes, ready for drying. The boxes of logs are dried inside our biomass-heated kiln for up to a week to ensure the logs are dry and ready for burning.
When the logs are ready to be delivered, we use a specially made cubic metre bucket to measure the logs. The logs then go through a cleaner which removes any dust and really small pieces. However, there may be some logs that are above or below the average. Finally, the logs are tipped into the delivery vehicle.
Moisture content is tested to ensure the kiln-dried logs are below 20%.
Where do we deliver the kiln-dried logs?
Our kiln-dried logs are delivered as a loose load to your door, locally within 10 miles of Ancaster with no extra cost. Delivery outside of this area will incur additional costs. Bulk loads up to 30 cubic metres are available to order, please get in touch if you would like to order more than 3 cubic metres of logs.
It is useful for us to know in advance if your driveway is particularly narrow or awkward so we can plan which vehicle to deliver the logs in (please leave a note when ordering). BSL Authorised naturally seasoned wood chipping are also available to order by the tonne for use as Bio-Mass Fuel. Please get in touch with us for more information.

**As much care as possible is taken to ensure the size of logs is consistent, however as it is
a natural product, some logs may be larger or smaller than the average.
